Update: Burnaby reporter gets help on restraining order

July 3, 2012

Burnaby Now reporter Janaya Fuller-Evans has posted an update on her blog regarding her difficulties getting a restraining order enforced.

A Burnaby RCMP officer has better explained to Janaya how a civil restraining order works and how to get the police to enforce it, if necessary, and offers advice to others in her situation. (One can’t help but think that someone should be ablte explain these orders when they’re put in place, not after something happens.)

Anyhow, it’s a satisfying update. Read “My restraining order is special and unique… like a snowflake” in full. And hopefully Janaya will find a way to turn her personal experience into a story, whether it be for the Now or another publication on a freelance basis. This is stuff people should know, and especially those trying to exit troubled relationships. In the meantime, be on the lookout for an expose of the Yarn Illuminati coming out of Burnaby.
